After becoming the first national No. 1 seed to win the College World Series since 1999, the Tennessee Volunteers are No. championship, then won the SEC championship and became the first national champion to reach the 60-win plateau since Wichita State in 1999.
Nationally ranked Texas A&M moved up two spots from our last regular season Top 25 to the Postseason Top 25, finishing No. 2. SEC champion Kentucky finishes at No. 3 after reaching its first-ever College World Series with a win. game in Omaha. National semifinalists Florida State and Florida finished No. 4 and No. 8, respectively, while fellow CWS participants North Carolina, NC State and Virginia come in at No. 5, 6 and 7, respectively.
The next eight teams made it to the top division but fell short of Omaha. No. 9 Clemson, No. 10 Oregon State and No. 11 Georgia leads the pack, after all three teams entered the postseason ranked in the top 10. on the road: No. 12 Oregon, No. 13 West Virginia, No. 14 Kansas State, No. 15 Connecticut and No. 16 Evansville. The first four teams in that bracket were all No. 3 seeds in regionals, and Evansville won the Greenville Regional as the No. 4 seed.
The addition of those big five state clubs and Florida leaves six teams in the rankings, including four regional finalists: Indiana State, Louisiana, Southern Miss and LSU. Wake Forest and Dallas Baptist are also out of the Top 25.
