Germany kicked off the finals in style with a 5-1 win over Scotland on the opening night and a 2-0 win over Hungary that many tipped Julian Nagelsmann's side to claim the title.
Their group stage final, against Switzerland, was a tough one, with Niclas Fullkrug's equalizer in the 92nd minute ensuring they finished top with a 1-1 draw.
Denmark enter the round of 16 on a points drought, having not found the back of the net since Hjulmand scored against the Three Lions.
