NHL Rumors: Toronto Maple Leafs, and Detroit Red Wings
Toronto Maple Leafs after Chris Tanev and Nikita Zadorov
TSN: Pierre LeBrun said the Toronto Maple Leafs would like to be in the position of defender Chris Tanev (and now has his rights) and Nikita Zadorov, but the Leafs like many top contenders, the cap space is not limited.
The Canucks made a last-ditch effort to drop Zadorov for $5 million, but he decided to go to free agency.
” they came late to $5 million AAV,” said LeBrun. So, it would make sense that he would get that. Can He Find It In The Maple Leaves? I'm told there are 10 teams interested in Zadorov and the Maple Leafs are among them. They like him for a lot of different reasons and there's a history with Treliving, but he's coming to Toronto in a good way.”
The Detroit Red Wings and Patrick Kane are still in talks but others will be interested
Pierre LeBrun of the Athletic: Negotiations between the Detroit Red Wings and Patrick Kane continue. Agent Pat Brisson.
“He hasn't made a decision yet. The option to return to Detroit is still there. We have not made a final decision yet.”
Allan Walsh, David Perron's agent, said they are still talking to the Red Wings. he thinks the Minnesota Wild and Ottawa Senators might be interested in Perron if he goes on the market.
TSN: Chris Johnston said the Detroit Red Wings are still talking to pending UFA Patrick Kane, but ultimately there are a few teams that could be interested when he arrives on July 1st.
“Patrick Kane is still in talks with the Red Wings and I think there is a good chance that he will stay there. A lot of people are linking him to the New York Rangers and maybe even his hometown Buffalo Sabres, but it sounds like Detroit is in good shape if they can get a deal done in time.
