Spain set up a quarter-final match against Germany with a big win over Georgia

Spain ended Georgia's Euro 2024 tour in impressive fashion with a huge 4-1 victory over the underdogs.

Despite failing to score early on, Spain dominated, recording 75% and 35 shots on goal in an exceptional display that also saw Georgia fail to score.

Pedri had a chance to open the game five minutes from time as Spain quickly established their dominance, but things went awry when Robin Le Normand sent the ball wide after 18 minutes.

Otar Kakabadze's powerful cross was sent to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but a nervous Le Normand managed to steer the ball past Unai Simon to put Georgia 1-0 up.

That shock did not change the game, however, as Spain continued to rain on Giorgi Mamadashvili's goal. The wanted stopper denied Fabian and Marc Cucurella but was finally beaten by Rodri's big game.

Williams registered his first assist of the tournament with a brilliant backhand cut from the Manchester City midfielder, who smashed home from the edge of the area to restore parity heading into the break.

Kvaratskhelia would have restored Georgia's lead shortly after the restart, but his foul was punished afterwards as Fabian, who has been unimpressive so far this summer, nodded home Lamine Yamal's curling ball to give Spain the lead they should have scored. 51 minutes.

Spain did not ease the pressure on their players and, after having a goal ruled out for offside, added a third a few minutes later.

It was Williams' turn to celebrate the moment as, with Spain's 27th shot of the game, he collected a long ball from Fabian and ran the length of the Georgia half before thundering over Mamadashvili's net to remove any doubt about the result.

The fourth came seven minutes before the end when Dani Olmo closed the net to send Spain to the quarter-finals, where they will face Germany.
