Alan Shearer points to a potential “revival” moment for England's Euro 2024
BBC pundit Alan Shearer believes Jude Bellingham's goal against Slovakia could be the moment to raise England's Euro 2024 hopes ahead of their quarter-final clash with Switzerland on Saturday.
The Real Madrid star struck a last minute overhead kick to save the Three Lions from relegation before Harry Kane scored the winner in extra time.
Gareth Southgate's men have had a poor performance so far in Germany and can count themselves very lucky to still be taking part in the competition. Many have called for the 53-year-old to make changes in his first 11 games as he has been inactive for four games.
The England manager is unlikely to do so, but his side could be boosted after the way they beat Slovakia and BBC commentator Alan Shearer believes Bellingham's goal “could spark” the Three Lions into life in Germany.

Speaking on time BBC coverage of Portugal vs SloveniaShearer commented on England's win over Slovakia on Sunday and pointed to a moment that could “rekindle” the Three Lions' Euro 2024 hopes.
“I don't think we're saying something that no one at home thinks or sees, you know, in every bar, in every home. They are not saying that England is flying and that England is playing well, that is not the case, they did not play well at all,” said the England striker.
“But we think, hopefully, that could be a spark because that's all it takes sometimes. That kick goes over the top and Harry Kane's goal is the only one. “
Bellingham's goal was huge for England and with Southgate's men on the easy side, a minute could give them the belief that they can go all the way. Whether that is the case remains to be seen but Saturday is the first test of Shearer's theory as England face a tough Switzerland side.
