Golf Business News – GolfPlex takes on the Big Golf Race 2024

The GolfPlex in Bracknell, a golf entertainment complex that includes Adventure Golf, Toptracer Range, FootGolf and an Indoor Sports Simulator, has been fighting for Prostate Cancer UK by taking part in the Big Golf Race 2024 – but with a difference. They completed 72 'visible' holes in one day!

Members of the crew, Bayley Tustin, Vikki Trusler, Darren Johnson and Liam Poulson started the challenge on the morning of Monday 10th June and 8 hours later they had played all 18 holes at St Andrews Old Course, Pebble Beach Golf Links, PGA National Champion course and Pinehurst No 2.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men in the UK, around 55,100 new men every year. It accounts for 28% of all new cancers in men. With early diagnosis, it is treatable, but due to the lack of symptoms it often goes unnoticed, with 12,000 men in the UK dying from the disease every year.

Speaking about the event, Vikki Trusler said, “It's great to support this event and raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. We don't have a physical golf course, but participating in the virtual courses offered by the Toptracer Range was the next best thing. Even though it was heavy in my legs, I could still feel it in my arms after 72 holes!”

GolfPlex has maintained a link to their website for Prostate Cancer UK's free, 30 second risk assessment – for men to assess their risk before booking an activity at the centre.
