Paul George Defends 76ers Rookie Jared McCain Over TikTok Criticism

He hasn't even played a single game in the NBA, but 76ers rookie Jared McCain is starting to get a long run.

McCain was listed as the No. 16 pick by the Sixers in last week's draft.

Along with being a football player, McCain has a massive social following of 1.2 million TikTok because of his viral videos.

The 20-year-old knows his surfing very well and is well prepared for the onslaught of NBA fans.

“Even since I was in high school, I have had social media. I've been hating since high school. I've painted my nails since high school, so I understand mine TikTok it's going to play out after one bad game,” McCain told Lauren Rosen.

Rosen asked him, “What will they say?”

McCain responded, “It will. I was on Twitter, Joel Embiid says, 'Jared, we need to make a three'… And it's going to be one of my TikToks. So I already know what it will be. But going to Duke set that up for me, I know what it's going to bring and I'm prepared and I just embrace it. I try to work as hard as I can and show everyone that I belong here.”

Even though he's only been a Sixer for a few days, Paul George was quick to jump to his rookie defense in the latest episode of. Podcast P with Paul George.

“His personality stands out more than anything else,” said George. “He has a personality like, 'It's me, I'm going to do it.' The fact that she doesn't give a f**k that she paints her nails and what people say about that, and she can still be herself and go … you can call her anything at that point. “

PG added, “He's got a toughness about him, so I don't think he gives a**t.”

It's not all hate though, some fans do his dance.
