Draymond Green gave his clear response to the Warriors giving up nine-time All-Star Paul George.
Paul signed a one-year, $11 million-plus deal with the Spurs, as the Dubs waived him before free agency began.
Waiving Paul was Golden State's head coach, as the franchise previously traded Jordan Poole for him.
That means the Warriors have offered Poole nothing – a salary dropping the 25-year-old to 39-years-old, after CP3 played one season with the club.
Digressions aside, Green is saddened by the loss of an experienced teammate and one of the most respected veterans in the league.
“One thing I'm sad about is CP [Chris Paul],” Green said The Draymond Green Show. “I don't know if it is written down how we hate each other, but what saddens me the most is to know that he is leaving this team. Because in my head, I'm like 'Man, I see CP finish his career here, that would be dope,' and this is part of the fun business.
“One year I had CP and I was like 'Man, I really like this guy, like he's amazing, one of the best players I've ever been around,' and then he left, and that's the weird part about this business, but it really hurt me. So, in, like, the day of finding out that Klay [Thompson] and CP [are leaving]I've been upset the past few days trying to process my thoughts.
“Anyway, CP, Pop [Spurs coach Gregg Popovich] who is now a genius. Pairing CP with Wemby is teaching that guy the way. CP is one of the greatest vets I have ever been around and that will be great. Spending a year with CP and being a vet…he was a vet to me. It will be great for Wemby. And a little boy [Stephon] The fortress. … That's a smart move by the Spurs, man.”
Paul has improved the winning percentage of every team he's been on, so there's no doubt the Spurs can use the magic of the Point God.
