The Detroit Red Wings have four goalies under contract

Kevin Allen of Detroit Hockey Now: The Detroit Red Wings signed forwards Cam Talbot (two years at $2.5 million each) and Jack Campbell (one year at $775,000). They also have Ville Husso (one year left at $4.75 million) and Alex Lyon (one year left at $900,000). All deals are one way. Something like giving.

To move Husso, the Red Wings would have to save salary. Campbell is from Michigan and his high character would fit in well with Grand Rapids in the AHL.

Broadcaster: “In your interview with TSN, right after you signed the contract with the Predators, you said you felt there was no good offer on the table from the Golden Knights to stay and you don't think they ever tried their best to keep you.

Kelly McCrimmon, the Golden Knights GM, responded to that later in the day and said the quote couldn't be further from the truth and he disagreed with it. How far did the Golden Knights offer compared to the deal you signed with the Predators?

Marchessault: “Yes, obviously, I want, I want to go ahead and stop talking about it, right? But one of the things I didn't like was that it wasn't like a traditional gift. They gave me something called a deferral and that is too far for me.

So, yes, so the end result was probably around the same amount but, it was a long time. So that, that's what I didn't like and I don't think I was right at the time and that's why I wasn't the type of guy that wanted to like blow up a bank or something like that. I wanted a good deal, a good deal for a team that wants to win.

And you know that, as with Nashville, they haven't won. So they are, they are. they are eager to win. They want to win and I think that's it, that's what I wanted to be a part of.
