Ryan Garcia Tells WBC “Don't Try To Work With Me Again” After Getting Fired
Ryan Garcia responded forcefully today in response to the World Boxing Council (WBC) expelling him after racist comments he made on Thursday on social media.
Garcia threw down the WBC, saying to X, “Okay; don't try to work with me again, even after I'm clean and sober.”
Ryan wants nothing to do with the WBC after putting his act together. They blew it, he has no desire to work with them anymore.
I'm being chased all my life
Ryan suggests that the WBC's decision to fire him was permanent, not temporary. However, he says that even if the WBC chooses to allow him to return, he will not cooperate with them again.
Kingry feels that the organization has chosen him to enforce the law and treats him differently than other fighters. He believes that others have never been punished for saying the same.
Ryan seems to feel that the WBC is getting tough, joining many others who have criticized him for his racist comments. He does not enjoy being punished and treated differently than others.
“So WBC, there are many other people who have said racist words, and you have never dismissed them. I'm being fired for the rest of my life,” said Ryan about the WBC firing him.
“The problem is Devin [Haney] he said racist things, so did Tim Bradley and NADA. You don't do anything.”
Garcia's future
Given Ryan's popularity, his successful career will continue after his one-year suspension, and the dismissal of the WBC will have no effect. He has not been fired by the IBF, WBA & WBO organizations, so if Ryan chooses to fight for world titles, he will have many opportunities.
Ryan has already gone on record saying that he doesn't care about winning world titles. He wants to compete in the big fights and not focus on belts, which are not that important unless the fighter has no fans.
If Ryan was serious about commenting on the world titles, the WBC firing him is an empty gesture.
