Donny van de Beek has finally filled the void of Man Utd's permanent exit

Manchester United's Donny van de Beek's nightmare seems to be coming to an end, and Girona are reportedly about to cut the price of signing the Dutch midfielder.

A £40m signing from Ajax in 2020, Van de Beek started just four Premier League games in his first season at Old Trafford and quickly found himself completely out of the game, even after the arrival of his former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag.

Having played 62 games and just 2,157 minutes of action over the past four years, Van de Beek appears ready to resume the career he craves. Relevo the former revealed that there is an agreement to sell the midfielder to Girona.

The report claims that the deal between United and Girona is around €500,000 (£420,000) – just 1% of the £40m initial fee.

However, Fabrizio Romano he added that United will also receive some of that money based on the number of add-ons included in the deal.

An appearance clause this season could take the fee closer to €5m (£4.2m), with more money likely to be raised by United through performance-related add-ons.

The important thing is that personal terms will still be agreed between Van de Beek and Girona, who will meet with the 27-year-old player in the coming days to finalize the deal.

A move to Girona will give Van de Beek the chance to reunite with former Ajax teammate Daley Blind, who recently signed a new contract after his key role in leading Girona to a shock Champions League spot next season.
