I The Dodgers placed Jason Heyward on the injured list for 10 days before yesterday's game, as an MRI revealed that the veteran player is dealing with a left hamstring injury. Manager Dave Roberts told reporters (including Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times ) that no structural damage was found in Heyward's knee, so the IL stint may not be too long. This is the second IL visit of the season for Heyward, who has already missed nearly six weeks with back tightness. Heyward hit .203/.299/.398 over 137 plate appearances, which translates to exactly middle-of-the-league offense (100 wRC+) while almost exclusively facing right, and Heyward offered his usual solid defense as a regular hitter. and a part-time platform.
James Outman he was called up from Triple-A to replace Heyward in the lineup and his full role in the Los Angeles pitching mix. A resurgent Outman could be a big boost for the Dodgers, and if Outman is productive and Heyward doesn't miss much time, this in-house help could impact any plans the club has for adding out-of-state help at the deadline.

- I Padres activated handler Luis Campusano from IL 10 days prior to yesterday's game, and designated hitter Hey Rosario in Triple-A on the corresponding move. A left thumb contusion sent Campusano to the IL on June 21, and as expected at the time of the layoff, Campusano didn't miss much beyond the 10-day minimum.
