Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake's sports bar St. Andrews is moving forward

Thousands of fans flocked to the 18th hole of the Old Course in St. Andrews during the second round of the 2022 Open Championship to catch Tiger Woods for the last time on the famous links.
But it appears that Woods' presence will remain in the city where he won two of his three Open titles.
Fife Council has granted Woods and partner Justin Timberlake planning permission to transform St. Andrews New Picture House Cinema became the second location for T-Squared Social sports bar.
The first location from Woods and Timberlake opened in Midtown Manhattan last September. (The bar's name honors Woods' first name and Timberlake's last name.)
The bar setting will be on North St., in the heart of St. Andrews, less than 200 yards from the first tee of the Old Course. To accommodate T-Squared, the 90-year-old theater will undergo extensive renovations, including the renovation of one of the theater's full-size screens for movie nights and live entertainment programming. These updates will see the theater continue to exist as a positive presence in the St. John's community. Andrews during and after the period when it was transformed into the modern T-Squared Social.
According to the BBC, Fife Council said the application by real estate company Nexus Luxury Collection – in which Timberlake and Woods are investors and 8AM Golf (the parent company of GOLF.com) – would “protect and enhance the character and appearance of – a conservation area.”
“The planned investment by T-Squared Social will allow the local community, students and visitors, the opportunity to experience a wide range of cinema, dining and entertainment in a popular location,” said David Morris, managing director of the cinema, in a press release. since the first announcement in October. “The New Picture House will continue to operate as usual until further notice. The directors look forward to supporting T-Squared Social with their development plans and welcoming new and existing customers to the New Picture House when the redevelopment works are completed.”
The New Picture House Cinema opened in 1930 and seats 910 people, but the BBC reported that the cinema's owners say it is only 10 percent operational and “no longer a stand-alone cinema operation.”
According to the BBC, the terms of the project's approval require that work on the conversion of the cinema be started within the next three years.
Woods has played in five Opens on the Old Course; Timberlake is also familiar with the course as a regular participant in the DP World Tour's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
An avid golfer, Timberlake has become one of the sport's biggest celebrity investors, working closely with his strategic partner 8AM Golf on all of the company's golf-focused assets.
