Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova is not at the Championships this year. The 34-year-old former World No 2 has just completed a very important task: she gave birth to a baby boy, named Petr.
The 34-year-old Kvitova, who last played in October 2023, announced her pregnancy on New Year's Day.
The 2011 and 2014 Wimbledon winner broke the news on social media, with fellow mums Angelique Kerber, Barbora Strycova and Belinda Bencic joining the comments section.
Another Wimbledon star also announced she is a mother during Wimbledon. Former World No.18 Alison Riske-Amritrajformer Wimbledon quarterfinalist, shared the news of her baby girl, Calen Ann, who was born on July 5.
Riske, also 34 years old, last played at Wimbledon last year.
