France lost for the first time in a major tournament with N'Golo Kante in the side
France are without N'Golo Kante in the squad for the longest time in a major competition following their Euro 2024 semi-final loss to Spain.
Spain came from behind to win 2-1 and go through to Sunday's final against either England or the Netherlands thanks to Lamine Yamal's record-breaking brace and Dani Olmo's strike.
The French took the lead within ten minutes thanks to Randal In Kolo Muani, Spain came back with two goals in four minutes of the first half.
The second half was not as good as the first, and Kylian Mbappe was guilty of missing an opportunity to equalize the match late on when he cut inside and shot over the bar.
In what should have been a historic defeat in the history of the major tournament France lost a game with N'Golo Kante in the side, a run that has lasted 20 games, the longest unbeaten run by any player in Europe.
It's probably the last time we'll see Kante in European competition and it could be the last time we see him in a major tournament, and it's a shame to see one of the stars of the modern game go down in defeat.
