Jayson Tatum: They always have to call me the NBA champion

On Saturday, Tatum officially signed his five-year, $314 million extension that replaces teammate Jaylen Brown as the richest contract in NBA history. The deal was legal, and Tatum said he still had more than enough money to take care of his family. But he said it is important because of what it symbolizes. “For me to feel wanted, and they want me here and want me for a long time,” Tatum said. “I will spend the rest of my career here and I have nothing but love for the fans, the city and the organization. You know, we just won the title and I want to try to win as many as possible.” -via Boston Globe / July 8, 2024
