Arsenal have seen a bid to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Dan Bentley rejected, according to a report.
It was revealed earlier this week that Arsenal have identified Bentley as a possible target this summer amid uncertainty over the future of current stopper Aaron Ramsdale.
Now, Athletic note that a formal bid was submitted and rejected by Wolves, who rejected the offer shortly after it was received.
While Wolves are believed to be open to a sale, they would only do so if they received an offer that would allow him to return to the current club. As it stands, Arsenal's approach remains far short of Wolves' price tag.
The Evening Standard put Arsenal's bid at just £50,000.
It is worth noting that Arsenal see 30-year-old Bentley as a third-choice goalkeeper, rather than a direct replacement for Ramsdale.
Ramsdale is expected to consider his future this summer following his return to Euro 2024 with England, having lost his place in the Arsenal squad to David Raya, who was loaned out to Brentford on a permanent basis earlier this month.
Arsenal are reportedly looking at a number of goalkeeper targets in the event of Ramsdale's exit, with Real Madrid's Andriy Lunin often touted as a possible option.
In accordance with ASanother potential stopper is Espanyol's Joan Garcia, whose release clause is 25 million euros.
Bentley will no doubt be on the cheap, having entered the final year of his contract at Molineux, although there is believed to be a two-year extension clause written into his current deal with Wolves.
