Man Utd's striker options in the summer transfer window
Manchester United continue to hunt for a new striker this summer as they look to bring exciting, attacking football back to Old Trafford.
With the market for strikers looking thin of late, United may have to dig a little deeper if they want to secure genuine talent this summer. Their hunt for a number nine was almost halted last year when Rasmus Hojlund arrived on the scene, but with the Dane the only known striker currently on the club's books, more reinforcements are needed.
But who can really sign for United? And who can make the biggest difference at Old Trafford?
Here are Man Utd's summer striker picks – they count.
f United are looking to sign a player who provides competition for Hojlund but doesn't take his place in the starting line-up, then Jonathan David could be their player.
The Canadian played 47 games last season for Lille, registering an impressive 26 goals. With one year left on his current contract in France, he could be a smart player.

Recent reports have named Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a surprise target for the Red Devils – with the Everton star rejecting a contract extension.
Fitness issues have plagued the striker, but Calvert-Lewin managed to make 38 appearances for his club last season. He found the net eight times, seven of which came in the Premier League.
If United were to pursue Calvert-Lewin, he would become the second Everton player to pique their interest this summer, with defender Jarrad Branthwaite also wanted by the Old Trafford club.

Ivan Toney seems to be on everyone's radar this summer.
He wasn't given much of an opportunity to shine on the international stage in Germany at Euro 2024, but Toney's appearance was impactful and game-changing.
He is a player who can work for United, offering a knack for free-kicks and the ability to drop deep and coordinate play effectively.

Viktor Gyokeres is one of the most coveted strikers in Europe for a very good reason.
The Swedish star is lethal in front of goal, scoring 43 times in 50 games last season. His rise has been meteoric, leaving Championship side Coventry City last summer after being spotted by Sporting CP.
The Portuguese club are willing to cash in on their main man, signing the player for €21 million last year but demanding €100 million to release him now.

Man Utd appear to be the leading contenders to sign Netherlands star Joshua Zirkzee this summer.
AC Milan were once the frontrunners in the race for Zirkzee, but have since backed out, allowing United to agree personal terms with the player.
His release clause of 40 million euros makes him an affordable, and interesting, option too, after scoring 12 goals in 34 games last season.
Zirkzee could be the perfect summer signing for the Red Devils.
