Aston Villa have now made a player and cash offer for the £15m signing of Emery

Hoping to land a star of the future, Aston Villa have reportedly made a player and money deal to sign the Turkish talent for Unai Emery, who will lose one of his most experienced players in the deal.

Aston Villa transfer news

The Villans have been one of the busiest clubs in the Premier League, welcoming a total of five new faces and also losing Douglas Luiz to Juventus and Tim Iroegbunam to Everton to comply with profit and sustainability regulations. Ross Barkley was the latest to arrive at the start of the month, swapping Luton Town for a chance to play in the Champions League at Villa Park.

After making improvements to Emery's starting side, on the other hand, Villa seem to be looking to the future and have secured a player who will have a huge impact in the coming years. The deal would not be without its sacrifice, however.

It is reported that the deal is progressing rapidly…

According to Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, Aston Villa have made an €18m (£15m) and Alex Moreno bid to sign Besiktas' Semih Kilicsoy in a deal that would see the Turkish giants retain their 18-year-old striker for one game – annual loan agreement. That request has reportedly been denied, however, as they are looking to keep their child forever.

Whether Villa will pursue the young striker again remains to be seen, but the fact that Moreno has been included in their bid is an indication of where his role lies in Emery's side following the arrival of Ian Maatsen this summer. That said, if Villa can resolve their Moreno dispute and welcome the star of the future, it's a deal they should be after.

“Fantastic” Kilicsoy belongs to the future

The Champions League club's interest in Villa's form should come as no surprise, given how Kilicsoy impressed in his first professional season at Besiktas. The youngster has received praise from across Europe, including Jacek Kulig of Football Talent Scout, who described his first campaign as “fantastic” for X.

With Jhon Duran's Aston Villa future already in doubt on more than one occasion this summer, Kilicsoy represents a potentially viable option to provide back-up to Ollie Watkins despite being only 18 years old. He showed plenty last season that he is more than ready to play in the first team and that includes the Premier League.

For now, however, Aston Villa's reported bid to sign Kilicsoy has been rejected and he remains a Besiktas player ahead of the fast-approaching 2024/25 campaign.
