Exclusive: Fabrizio Romano makes the final Euro 2024 prediction and highlights key places for England and Spain

Journalist Fabrizio Romano looks forward to the Euro 2024 final between England and Spain, predicting a close game that could go to penalties.

Specially speaking CaughtOffside in his latest column for the Daily Briefing, Romano made it clear that he is not confident in predicting the exact score, or naming a winner, but he felt that this would be a close game that could go to penalties, with wings like Phil Foden and Lamine Yamal perhaps the key.

England's men's team are aiming for a first trophy since 1966, and will be looking to avoid penalties again after losing the Euro 2020 final to Italy in the play-off after a 1-1 draw at Wembley Stadium.

Spain will probably be favorites in this game, but England have a good chance as they have shown incredible resilience in this tournament, coming from behind on several occasions and grinding out results even if they were not at their best.

Fabrizio Romano in England vs Spain

“Euro 2024 final – I'm not good at predicting scores so I'm leaving this one, but I'm looking forward to today's final between Spain and England,” said Romano.

“I am sure that the match will be against players like Phil Foden and Lamine Yamal. In addition to midfield, quality on the wing will be the key to win individual duels and win the game. It will be interesting between two top teams, two very close teams, and I saw that it would go to penalties!”

Spain have performed very well at this summer's Euros, and will be looking to win the trophy for the first time since Euro 2012, where they held that period of international dominance, taking home the trophy for the third time in a row.

Will Spain win again or is it England's time to finally win a major tournament? Give us your guesses in the comments!
