Golf Business News – PING introduces a range of new Prodi G Junior equipment

PING has introduced the next generation of its Prodi G junior clubs, all of which are available for customization and pre-order at authorized PING golf stores starting today (July 16).

Along with performance improvements throughout the set, the company is launching WebFit Junior, a web application that recommends club specifications and makeup settings based on the answers to a few questions about the junior player.

The process takes less than two minutes to complete. A young golfer's skill level, age, height, wrist to bottom and average driver distance are factored into the recommendations.

Among the results from the data is a gap analysis feature that allows users to test organized makeup by adding or removing clubs to see the impact on distance gaps. To find out more visit

The set contains 10 clubs and two putter options: 460cc titanium driver, 22⁰ fairway wood, 28⁰ hybrid, perimeter weighted irons (6-PW), special wedges (54⁰ S & 58⁰ H) and tour-proven putter models (Anser and Tyne H).

Technologies used in the new Prodi G include a thin, flexible face to increase ball speed in the iron woods, and irons designed with low CGs for distance and high launch.

A metal custom tuning hole allows for precise tuning during the custom build process. Two lightweight graphite shafts are optimized for length, weight and balance to match low swing speeds. Two putter options offer a traditional blade or a modern mallet style.

Lightweight clubs can be ordered in any combination. Two sizes of the Hoofer Prodi G carrying bag (34″, 4.3 lbs and 30″, 4lbs) can be purchased separately.

Commenting on the new range, John K Solheim, CEO and President of PING, said: “By focusing on the needs of young golfers and leveraging the expertise of our adult product lines, we have enhanced the performance of the new Prodi G family to deliver more. distance while launching the ball up to help ensure the little ones get good shots every time and have fun on the course.

“We've also expanded the width of the structure of the entire set, allowing us to better fit a wider range of player heights using a new slim fit system. “WebFit Junior is an amazing app and full of very useful features, whether the junior golfer is just starting out or developing as a competitive player,” said Solheim. “It is consistent with our commitment to providing golfers of all ages and abilities with the latest fitness technology to help lower their scores.

“The gap analysis tool is great for parents looking to improve the set of their young golfers. It gives them the ability to explore different options as they decide the best design for their child.

The app also includes a Yardage Report, a printable resource that describes approximate club distances for use on the course to aid in club selection.”

PING also announced the continuation of its popular 'Get Golf Growing' program, the first program in the junior golf equipment industry that offers customizable and custom-built junior clubs that include one-time, no-cost maintenance on five-club sets. or more. The program helps address the very common phenomenon that results in many young golfers playing clubs that are not suited to their game.

“One of the biggest hurdles parents of young golfers face is investing in a set of clubs that their kids will soon grow into,” Solheim said. “Our 'Make Golf Grow' program is designed to be an affordable way to get juniors into high-performing, custom-fit clubs while bringing more boys and girls into the sport. Prodi G clubs grow with the golfer. Basically two sets of costs in one. We believe that if young people are exposed to better equipment, they will enjoy golf more, which will continue to grow the game as they love golf and have played it their whole lives.”
