The Leagues Cup 2024 is fast approaching as 47 clubs from Major League Soccer and Liga MX will face off in matches across the United States.
Last year's edition of the tournament saw Lionel Messi lead Inter Miami to their first silverware in a narrow victory in the final on penalties. Miami will be hoping to repeat as League Cup champions, but will have to do so without their number 10 as he suffered a serious ankle injury in the Copa America final against Colombia.
The Leagues Cup 2024 is all set to kick off on July 26 with the opening Group Stage matches pitting Atlanta United against Santos Laguna and Pumas UNAM vs Austin FC. All 29 MLS clubs and all 18 Liga MX teams will participate in the month-long tournament, with Club America and the Columbus Crew receiving automatic byes in the Round of 32 after back-to-back title-winning seasons in their respective domestic leagues.
