Why the Warriors Won't Dump Brandin Podziemski in a Trade
The Warriors could get Lauri Markkanen if they include Brandin Podziemski in trade talks.
But by all reports, the franchise is refusing to include the second-year point guard in any trade talks.
Obviously “Podz” made a huge impact on the team in his short time there.
Athletic's Anthony Slater recently reported that the Warriors “don't want to trade” Podziemski because he is “popular within the organization.”
“One of the strange things about him, compared to other recent Warriors picks, is that Steve Kerr couldn't stop him as a rookie,” Slater said. 95.7 The Game the radio.
Podziemski had a memorable rookie year, culminating in a First Team All-Rookie honor.
Team owner Joe Lacob is a big fan of the young guard and thinks he will be an All-Star.

Lacob added, “He started a lot of games for us. Steve [Kerr] he had trouble getting him off the ground; he had to put her down, she was so beautiful. He does many things very well. He is very confident, he has an NBA body, he can go anywhere he wants. … What can he do?”
Podziemski appeared in 74 games in 2023-24, including 28 starts and averaged 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 26.6 minutes, while shooting a . -38.5 above the arc.
Along with Warriors teammate Trayce Jackson-Davis, Podziemski was named to the USA Select Team that is training for Team USA in Las Vegas ahead of the Paris Olympics – which begin at the end of this month.
The Santa Clara product has averaged 18.5 points through two Summer League games so far, including a 21-point, game-12 rebound over the weekend against the Bulls.
