McAvennie tells the Hammers to sign McTominay
The composition of West Ham's first team starting XI could look very different from last season when they first took to the field in 2024/25.
Perhaps because of the way Julen Lopetegui is playing, some players are running for different positions, which may ensure that some players who were running in the first team under David Moyes, will be selected for the second time under the Spanish player or will be sold.
West Ham have been linked with Scott McTominay again
Another player the Hammers have been linked with in the past 12 months is Man United goalscorer Scott McTominay.
It looks like the Scotland international could be a regular for the Red Devils, given their interest in PSG's Manuel Ugarte, so it could be time for the 27-year-old to move on.
Former Hammer, Frank McAvennie, has urged his old club to do a deal.
“I was going to pay it. £25million-£29million is nothing for a midfielder of Scott's caliber. He is only 27 years old and you can see him playing for Scotland, he scores goals and can play in midfield or centre.,” he said to West Ham Zone.
“He is among all the big boys of Manchester United. It must be bad because you are playing well and suddenly you fall. I ask, 'Why is he being taken down?' because some are bad.
“I would take him from West Ham. He needs a strong manager who will take his finger out because he is a top player if he puts his mind to it.”
