Boxing results: Alexis Rocha defeated Santiago Dominguez
Former WBO NABO Welterweight champion Alexis 'Lex' Rocha defeated former WBC Latino champion Santiago 'Somer' Dominguez via a 10-round unanimous decision in Friday night's main event at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California. The scores were 99-91, 99-91, and 98-92.

Rocha (25-2, 16 KOs) defeated former WBC Latino champion Santiago 'Somer' Dominguez (27-1, 20 KOs) by a ten-round decision. Rocha used a good body attack in the first three rounds, taking both close rounds. In the final seconds of the fourth round, Rocha hurt Dominguez with a body shot.
In the sixth, seventh, and eighth rounds, Dominguez kept coming forward as Rocha countered him more to the body, hurting Dominguez. Knowing he needed a knockout in the ninth round, he finished the round, driving Rocha to the ropes.
In the tenth and final round, towards the end of the first minute, Rocha hit the ground. Referee Ray Corona gave him one minute to return to the floor. In the final minute, Dominguez had Rocha against the ropes with punches.
In a welterweight match, Gregory 'Goyo' Morales (17-1, 9 KOs) defeated IBO American champion Jayvon 'Jigsaw' Garnett (10-2, 5 KOs) by a ten-round decision.
In the first two rounds, the tall Morales used an effective jab, taking both rounds. In the third and fourth rounds, Garnett, who hadn't fought in nearly three years, landed overhand rights and uppercuts to the chin of Morales, taking both rounds.
In the sixth round, Garnett had a great round, landing a chinlock in the final seconds, taking the round. Morales appeared to be in control for the first two minutes of the seventh round and was hitting hard when Garnett countered with a hook to the chin in the final minute.
In the eighth round, Morales made a good comeback, using his reach and occasional landing to the chin to support Garnett. In the ninth round, it was back and forth, each with its own moments.
In the tenth and final round, Garnett looked in good shape. In the final minute, Morales landed a powerful right to the chin that rocked Garnett.
The referee was Ray Armendariz. The scores were 96-94, 98-92, and 99-91. 97-93 KH.
Lightweight Bryan Luca (10-0, 5 KOs) stopped Diuhl 'Elegante' Olguin (16-38-7, 10 KOs) at 2:03 of the fifth round of the scheduled 6.
In the first two rounds, Luca came out and beat Olguin. Between rounds, referee Ray Corona called the ring doctor to check on Olguin.
In the third round, Luca hurt Olguin with a left hook to the head. In the final minute of the fifth round, a flurry from Luca left Olguin defenseless, prompting referee Corona to stop.
Super Bantamweight Jorge Chavez (12-0, 8 KOs) defeated Riku Kitani (8-3, 3 KOs) over six solid rounds.
In the first three rounds, Chavez worked hard and outboxed Kitani. In the fourth and fifth round, Kitani came back well but not enough to win. In the sixth and final round, it was close, with Chavez having the edge.
The referee was Ray Armendariz. The total score was 60-54.
19-year-old Super Welterweight Grant Flores (6-0, 5 KOs) stopped Juan 'Fuego' Meza (4-6, 3 KOs) at 1:54 of the second round of a scheduled four-round bout.
In the first round, it was back and forth until the final minute when Flores rocked Meza multiple times with overhand rights to the chin.
In the second round Flores rocked Meza with left hooks to the chin. Several punches from Flores made Meza unable to defend himself when referee Corona stopped.
The ring announcer was Mark Fratto.
