Leicester table new £21m bid for 'fantastic' ace they are pushing to sign
Hoping to land their biggest deal of the summer transfer window so far, Leicester City have reportedly tabled a new £21m bid to sign Serie A star Steve Cooper.
Leicester City transfer news
The Foxes have made much-needed headlines in recent weeks following a poor start to the summer, with manager Enzo Maresca and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall completing moves to Chelsea. Since then, Steve Cooper has arrived along with four new faces, with those at the King Power hoping to build a team that can avoid relegation from the Premier League in their first season back in the top flight.

Other arrivals may still be on the way. Reports have linked the likes of Alexis Saelemaekers and Richard Rios with a move to Leicester in recent days, with the Foxes looking to use the next month to make further additions. The Championship winners should be aware of that because they are already in trouble with the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules and face possible sanctions.
Still, those potential penalties don't seem to be standing in the way of making big money this summer. According to John Percy of The Telegraph, Leicester have tabled a new £21m bid to sign Matias Soule from Juventus and want to agree a deal for the youngster next week.
The Foxes' interest in the Serie A star is an open secret these days, and their £21m move will be expensive this summer, not to mention a statement of intent ahead of their return to the Premier League. That said, even if it is their biggest move yet, it remains to be seen whether Juventus will take their £21m bid enough to show Soule the door next week.
Still only 21 years old, the Argentinian will undoubtedly be a surprise coup.
“Fantastic” Soule can replace the Dewsbury-Hall spark
Following Dewsbury-Hall's exit, landing a player who can emulate the Englishman's impressive output and creative spark should be high on Leicester's priority list this summer – and that should tie in with their ambitions to sign Soule.
The Juventus gem enjoyed a fine season on loan at Frosinone last season, providing a bright spark in a forgettable campaign for an otherwise relegated Serie A side. Following a “good start”, as described by Football Talent Scout's Jacek Kulig, Soule improved, finishing the season with 11 goals. and 3 assists in all competitions.
A player who still has a lot to offer, Soule will be an integral part of Cooper's side as soon as he completes his move to Leicester in the summer. At just £21m, he could be seen as one of the window goods if he hits the ground running in the Premier League.
