Serrano looked sharp, showing solid technique and accurate head-to-body combinations. Morgan stayed on his feet but couldn't defend himself from the future hall of famer, prompting the referee to wave him off.
It was Serrano's first stoppage win since stopping Daniela Bermudez in the ninth round of their featherweight title fight in San Juan, Puerto Rico in March 2021. Her rematch with Katie Taylor will take place on November 15 in Ireland. the superstar's undisputed junior welterweight champion is on the line. Taylor narrowly featured Serrano in a Fight-of-the-Year candidate for April 2022.
Taylor-Serrano II will co-feature on Paul vs. Mike Tyson, a profitable show on Netflix that was kept alive when the 27-year-old bareknuckle champion from Ohio Michael Perry in the sixth round.
Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) knocked Perry down three times during a one-sided fight, but the young and inexperienced (in boxing) toughness and aggressiveness of the former MMA fighter made the fight interesting. Perry (0-2) was landed with a right to the ear less than a minute into the opening round of the eight-round cruiserweight title, then dropped with a straight right (as Paul was backing up) 30 seconds into Round 2, before being backed up and slammed to the canvas with a series of rights and piercing left hooks in Round 6. Referee Christopher Young stopped the fight at 1:12 of the sixth.
Between these tests, Perry ran into strong, stinging problems from Paul, who broke the back foot, but managed to blast the Florida native's face and bloodied him (even when it seemed that Paul was running out of gas).
The pay-per-view event aired live on DAZN and PPV.COM.
