The 23-year-old's dream of a move to Manchester United is dashed after failing two trials
England goalkeeper Toby Savin has failed two trials at Manchester United in the past 6 months.
The Red Devils were interested in signing the 23-year-old as a third-choice goalkeeper but the player failed to pass the required tests which led to his relegation.
Toby Savin failed his medical at United twice
The Daily Mail reports that the club have been eyeing him for several years and in January 2024, he had his first medical with United while still playing for League 2 Accrington Stanley. However, he ended up failing the exam.
He then left Accrington at the end of the season, and had hoped to sign for United on a free transfer but reports suggest the player has failed a medical for the second time this month.
He suffered a shoulder injury in September last year, which kept him out of action for 6 months. That may have contributed to his medical failure.
The player has since joined Shrewsbury on a free transfer.
Meanwhile, Manchester United had a busy week in the transfer window, signing Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.
It is reported that they are about to close the deal with Manuel Ugarte from PSG.
