Antony's agent responds to Man Utd exit rumours
Manchester United winger Antony's agent insists the Brazilian is fully focused on a future with the Red Devils, following reports he could be allowed to leave the club on loan this summer.
Antony has failed to impress following his £82m move from Ajax in the summer of 2022 and it was recently claimed that United are willing to loan the 24-year-old out next season if the striker is willing to pay £70,000-a-week wages.
Asked about the response to those reports, said Antony's agent, Junior Pedroso Fabrizio Romano: “I see reports about getting out of the loan. Antony's plan is clear: Manchester United.
“He wants to stay, he is only focused on Man Utd. We have discussed that with the team.”
Manager Erik ten Hag confirmed his commitment to Antony last week, insisting the Brazilian showed glimpses of the talent that convinced United to spend big to secure his signature.
“I don't pass the budget. I never had a budget. At United, the budget lies with the owners and managers,” said Ten Hag. Algemeen Dagblad. “[Antony] he certainly showed that ability in the first month: he scored three points in his first three games.
“After that, it was very difficult, last season was not good. But I am still sure that he has the ability to play in this club.”
United still need to sell players before they can continue to spend in the summer and could still entertain an offer for Antony, whose contract at Old Trafford runs until 2027 and includes a 12-month buyout clause.
