Golden Boy and Top Rank agree to collaborate with Riyadh Season

The Turki Alalshikh ACT continues to grow with the news released today that two of America's largest advertising companies will work together with the Riyadh Season.

Forming a partnership with Matchroom and Queensberry Promotions which has seen the likes of Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury fight in Saudi Arabia there is now renewed interest for Alalshikh to expand his plans Stateside.

In the issue of February 8 Debate News Alalshikh topped our list of the 50 Most Influential Men in Boxing. We wrote: “At the time of writing, there is no man who has more influence in this game than the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia, Turki Alalshikh.” Five months on and it's hard to argue that this isn't the case.

As Riyadh Season will be marked on August 3 with their show at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, titled Israil Madrimov vs. Terence Crawford, there can't seem to be a better time to make a big splash across the pond.

In a press release, Golden Boy Promotions said their partnership with Riyadh Season “is aimed at strengthening the promotion of world-class boxing events.” The partnership will begin on August 10 when super-welterweight Vergil Ortiz Jr challenges Serhii Bohachuk for the interim WBC belt in Las Vegas.

Top Rank used similar language describing their partnership with Riyadh Season as “Designed to continue promoting world-class boxing events around the world.” They revealed that 12 Top Rank events will be sponsored by the Riyadh Season, “Selected by the promoter (Bob Arum) during the remaining year until 2025.”

Riyadh Season comes to the UK for the first time on September 21 when together, Matchroom and Queensberry bring a six-fight card to Wembley Stadium headlined by the IBF world heavyweight title fight between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois.
