The PGA of America has named PGA Past President Suzy Whaley as captain of the 2025 United States Junior Ryder Cup team.

He will lead the US team of six boys and six girls as they compete in the 13th Junior Ryder Cup at Nassau Country Club and Bethpage Black in New York, September 23-25, 2025.

Whaley, who served as the 41st PGA President, was inducted into the PGA of America Hall of Fame in 2023. A PGA Master Professional, he is one of the 'Top 100 Golf Teachers in America' and serves as an analyst for ESPN.

Whaley, who captained the victorious US teams in the 2022 PGA Cup and the 2019 Women's PGA Cup, said: “I couldn't be more excited to be the captain of the 2025 United States Junior Ryder Cup team. The Junior Ryder Cup is undoubtedly one of the highlights of Ryder Cup week and provides a global platform for these highly talented young players to compete. I look forward to leading our team in New York next September.”

The 2025 Junior Ryder Cup will take place in three days. The foursomes and fourball tournaments will be contested at the Nassau Country Club on September 23-24. One key match will be contested at Bethpage Black, site of the 2025 Ryder Cup, on September 25. This marks the first time that a US Ryder Cup site will host Junior Ryder Cup matches prior to the Ryder Cup.

The American team's qualifying score list will begin at the 2024 Junior PGA Championships, which will be held July 30 – August 2 at the Congressional Country Club in Maryland.

Scotland's Stephen Gallacher has been named European captain for the 2025 Junior Ryder Cup. The four-time DP World Tour winner returns to action after leading Europe to a 20½-9½ win over the US in the 2023 Junior Ryder Cup.
