LeBron James, who is known for sitting during the Anthem, will be the USA's honoree

LeBron James was chosen by the US Olympians to carry the flag at the Opening Ceremonies of the Paris Olympics, becoming the first male basketball player to receive this honor.

She follows Sue Bird and Dawn Staley as the third basketball player to be honored. This marks James' fourth Olympics with Team USA.

“It is an incredible honor to represent America at this stage of the world, especially in a time that can bring the whole world together,” James said in a statement.
