NHL Rumors: Penguins Want To Build Around Sidney Crosby For Another Run
Jamison Coyle: “You mentioned the Penguins. Interesting one here. Why haven't the Penguins and Sidney Crosby agreed to an extension yet? Due July 1st, and here in the middle of July we are still waiting? Am I worried?”
Mike Rupp: “He's going to Colorado. No, I'm kidding. All of you people out there have been trying to get this out there for a long time. This boy is going to be a Penguin. I think he will be a Penguin for the rest of his life.
I don't think they should worry. But what I will say and the most obvious is, if this continues, a lot of people out there are going to stir things up. Like I just joked a minute ago, right? Because people will be like, Oh, well, there are Sids who decide what you want here. He wants to see the direction of the group.

And he has earned that. If there's a player out there that's like, Hey, let's see this. It could very well be Sids last contract. That's right. So you know, I don't care. Sidney Crosby wants to quit the Pittsburgh Penguins. He bleeds black and gold. This organization, the city, wants nothing more than Sidney Crosby to be there, and I think he's going to be there. But if this continues, you know there will be a lot of noise.”
Coyle: “Tampa fans guys, grab my beer right now. Stammer, we were in this situation last summer. To do. It will be done. Get into the season. It will be done. It will be done.”

Rupp: “I think it will be done. Yes, I think it will be done. But I think that on July 1, there will be a boom and it is not. “

Rupp: “That's a big thing because I was expecting to finish. But if it is not done and this team has started the season badly.
