Chelsea will play their first match under new manager, Enzo Maresca, against Wrexham in front of an American crowd at Levi's Stadium.
Chelsea finished their latest Premier League campaign strongly, winning their last five games to close out the 2023/24 season. Despite finishing sixth, the Blues saw their Europa League spot slip away after Manchester United won the FA Cup. Mauricio Pochettino immediately made way for Enzo Maresca, and the former Leicester City boss will see his new team in action on Wednesday night.
The Premier League giants will face Wrexham for the second time in a row in pre-season. The Red Dragons have won back-to-back promotions in the past two years, and will start the 2024/25 season in League One. Wrexham will be looking to put in a better performance than last year when they suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat.

Chelsea will be without many of their key starters against Wrexham. Marc Cucurella, Cole Palmer, and Conor Gallagher are enjoying their time off after competing at Euro 2024 while Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo are also on break after this summer's Copa America. Also, Gabriel Slonina was selected as a member of the USMNT Olympic team.
Other notable players missing are Trevoh Chalobah, Cesare Casadei, Romelu Lukaku, and Kepa Arrizabalaga. Omari Kellyman and Djorjde Petrovic were left out through injury.

Even without many starters, Chelsea should still beat Wrexham well, especially as the Blues picked up five points against the team last summer. And, the Premier League club's new players will be looking to make a statement as their new manager watches on from the sidelines.
The Red Dragons proved more than capable, however, to keep it close this year after drawing with Bournemouth last week.
