First look at the Maxxis High Roller Downhill Mountain Bike Tire

Maxxis has introduced the new High Roller downhill tire. Set to debut at Crankworx Whistler, the third generation Maxxis High Roller has been built, tested and raced on the World Cup Downhill circuit to give Maxxis riders the edge they need. The result is a brand new intermediate tire with a powerful tread design that has already taken elite athletes including Jackson Goldstone, Ronan Dunne, Marine Cabirou and Ellie Hulsebosch to the top of the World Cup circuit.

The new High Roller is ready to take its place between the Assegai and Shorty in the Maxxis lineup, and like the first version of the High Roller, it redraws the limits of what's possible with a downhill bike. This new mid-size tire combines an open tread pattern with large, well-supported sidewalls, a combination that allows for good grip in wet weather and the traction and cornering control needed in dry and dusty conditions.

Basically, this version of the High Roller is designed for the tough conditions found on World Cup courses: steep, wet, mixed and blown tracks. The ultra-sticky MaxxGrip compound adds to the High Roller's descent, while the 2 x 60 TPI tread (with updated butyl insert and tread extrusion), Maxxis' most durable, helps seal off trail obstacles and impact.

In keeping with Maxxis' commitment to using sustainable materials and processes wherever possible, the latest iteration of the High Roller ships in recyclable packaging, and the hanger includes cardboard made from 75% recycled paper with recycled plastic strips instead of zip ties.
