France is the favorite for the 2024 Paris Olympics, and it all starts with its manager, Thierry Henry. The Arsenal legend hopes to lead Les Bleus to their second gold medal. With Alexandre Lacazette and Jean-Philippe Mateta up top, and Manu Kone in midfield, France have plenty of experience on the pitch to balance the young talent of players like Michael Olise and Castello Lukeba.
France predicted to face USA (4-3-1-2): Relaxation; Sildillia, Bade, Lukeba, Truffert; Millot, Kone, Chotard; Elderly; Mateta, Lacazette
Unlike Henry, Marko Mitrovic opted to bring an experienced backline to the Paris Olympics, selecting Walker Zimmerman and Miles Robinson in his squad. Ahead of the veterans there will be plenty of exciting players to watch, including midfielder Tanner Tessmann, who is coming off of Venezia's best season yet. Meanwhile, Duncan McGuire, has eight goals this year for Orlando City, and brings the confidence in front of goal that the Stars and Stripes will need when they face France.
USA predicted to face France (4-2-3-1): Schulte; Harriel, Robinson, Zimmerman, Wiley; McGlynn, Tessmann; Booth, Aaronson, Paredes; McGuire
Although the USMNT has many talented pieces, they are not the same as France. Les Bleus have outscored their last three opponents 12-2, and with the home crowd behind them, should be comfortable against a USA team that has scored one goal in their two Olympic warm-up games.
Prediction: France 2-0 USA
