WATCH: Tiger Woods causes a stir as he watches Charlie play at the US Junior Amateur

Charlie Woods had his dad watching him in a tough round at the US Junior Amateur earlier this week.

The younger Woods shot a 12-over 82 on Monday in the tournament and played his way.

Woods won his title last month in Coral Springs, Florida, with a one-under 71, earning him a spot in a field of elite junior players from around the world.

He would go on to miss the cut at the Oakland Hills South Course, dubbed “The Beast” by Ben Hogan.

But Charlie is the only person in the world who has experienced firsthand what it's like to be Tiger Woods' child, and now he knows exactly what it's like to compete under the spotlight.

Charlie's father was among about 100 spectators waiting for the first tee to watch his son play, in an event that usually draws a few hundred people to a championship game. At least many more watch them for hours.

“He's still eligible,” Tiger told his son's caddy after the round.

“That's what I keep telling him,” said caddy Luke Wise.

Six Oakland Hills members were tasked with crowd management support. Ten more men were sent to hold the reins to give the players and Tiger some space.

A fan took Charlie's tee, decorated with a palm tree, out of the ground to preserve it as a souvenir after the tee shot on the seventh hole.

“I feel like he's depressed,” said 35-year-old John Pinch of Warren, Michigan. “If his father had been able to talk to him, he would have tried to calm him down.

“You can tell yourself that you have really sacrificed yourself.”
