Arsenal and Liverpool are battling for the €40m winger
Arsenal and Liverpool remain interested in Borussia Dortmund winger Donyell Malen.
The 25-year-old Dutch midfielder has a release clause of around €40m and his current contract at Signal Iduna Park expires in the summer of 2026.
It is not known whether any Premier League club will pay that fee or not, and that would make it difficult for them to take him in this transfer window.
CaughtOffside's sources with knowledge of the transfer understand that Malen's preference is to return to Arsenal, so the North Londoners believe they are currently leading the race.
The Gunners are looking for Bukayo Saka's deputy, because even though the England player played in an amazing way, his work should be handled better.
Reiss Nelson has been touted as a potential solution, but the Englishman failed to impress last season and is still up for sale.
Malen admitted that it would be a great dream to return to the Premier League with Arsenal, as he played for the club when he was young.
Liverpool also see him as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah on the right wing,
