These are considered some of the greatest trilogies in boxing history – and rightfully so. However, the three fights that took place over the past two decades between Arturo Gatti and the “Irish” Micky Ward still bring disappointment to fight fans. These were the three complete battles that took place in 2002 and 2003 respectively. Ward won for the first time. Gatti won two doubles. Fight fans won all three. The Ward-Gatti trilogy is still talked about often to this day. In fact, I found myself discussing it with the owner of a bar and grill last week (the creepy painting of two soldiers working on the wall).
Ward, who is the film A fighter supported, it called it the work after the Gatti trilogy, and Gatti himself unfortunately passed away in 2009. Although he has been out of the ring for a long time, Ward remains very popular in the fight scene. So, the famous Ward will appear on Friday night in Atlantic City at Boxing Insider card, which will be going down at Tropicana. For fans looking for an autograph, or just a few words, with a legendary product of Lowell, MA should have plenty of opportunities.
