Everton agree deal with Lyon for 23-year-old defender
Everton have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Lyon defender Jake O'Brien on a five-year deal at Goodison Park.
After a season marred by controversy, with the Toffees receiving a midway point deduction for a PSR breach, the Evertonians will be looking forward to starting with a clean slate next month.
The club have been busy in the transfer window with the likes of Amadou Onana leaving to join Aston Villa earlier this month.
However, it is still possible that there will be more departures before the window closes for England defender Jarrad Branthwaite, who is being heavily linked with the club after his successful season on Merseyside.
The club appear to have moved on as they are reported to have 'formally agreed' to Irish defender O'Brien who currently plays for Ligue 1 side Lyon through Fabrizio Romano.

The report says that the suspect, 23, will be given a five-year contract as he will undergo treatment at the weekend.
O'Brien joined the French giants from Crystal Palace last summer and went on to make 27 appearances in Ligue 1.
