Claressa defends She wins the WBC Heavyweight title in fast and furious fashion

Clear Claressa “T-Rex” Shields at your own risk. Those who feel the Flint, Michigan native is overrated can ask Vanessa Lepage Joanisse how legitimate the 14-0, 29-year-old Shields is. Because it took Shields less than two rounds to win his fifth division title on Saturday night. It was the high point (so far) of a stellar career. In fact, he may have never looked better.
Shields was attacking first, shooting Joanisse. The thunderous shot sent the defending champion to the ground in the second. Joanisse got up, but Shields moved forward and put her on the mat again. And while the defense line got up and continued the match, Shields, quickly put Joanisse down for the third time, leading the referee to wisely stop the fight. Shields is now a WBC heavyweight, and a WBO light heavyweight.
“How do you like that?” he asked harshly after the game was stopped. “I'm scared right now.”
