Ederson is happy at Man City but nothing has been decided about his future

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has admitted that nothing has been decided about his future, and that whatever happens is “in the hands of God.”

The Brazilian has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League this summer, with Al-Ittihad currently showing a strong interest in his services.

Ederson captained City and played 79 minutes on Saturday against AC Milan as they lost 3-2 in New York to their second consecutive pre-season defeat.

Ederson has not yet decided his future

The 30-year-old arrived at the Etihad from Portuguese club Benfica in 2017, and has been a key part of City's success under Pep Guardiola.

However, the Brazil international has been strongly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia this summer, with a move to Al-Nassr this fall despite agreeing personal terms.

Al-Ittihad are trying to sign the former Benfica man, but Fabrizio Romano has described the deal as difficult, with City thought to want €50m-€60m for the stopper.

Ederson has been strongly linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Athletic reported earlier this week that Ederson has been touched by the praise Stefan Ortega has received after the German filled in for him while injured.

Ederson released a statement on Instagram describing the allegations as completely false, but Ortega forced him to take the starting spot and was awarded a new contract at the Etihad.

Guardiola had said before the game how he would like the Brazilian to stay at the club, and Ederson has spoken about his future and said he is happy at City, but nothing has been decided.

“I'm happy with Manchester CityI'm comfortable with my partner, and I enjoy it too,” he said.

“I am recovering my physical condition, so I am at peace, everything that happens is in God's hands, he knows the way it is and I will be happy with what he gives me.

“There is no explanation [on his City future]. He heard this from Pep [that he wants him to stay] he satisfies.

“Eight seasons with him, a lot of good times, bad times. It's easy to work with him, he's a football genius, it's good to hear from him.”

Next up for Ederson and his City teammates is a game against Guardiola's Barcelona in Florida as preparations for the new season continue to gain momentum.
