Multi-material shafts are the latest additions to the market, and are used in both irons and drivers. This type of shaft combines steel and graphite into one shaft to provide the best of both worlds for each player and suit all playing styles.

Usually, the shaft is made of steel with a graphite tip. The steel shaft gives the golfer better control over the trajectory of the ball, while the graphite tip ensures that the golf ball travels the distance without unpleasant vibrations.
