NHL Rumors: Winnipeg Jets, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Dallas Stars
Jay Onrait: “Perfetti Frankie's question is very disturbing to Jets fans because he finds this player in question coming out of the youth. He falls for you at number 10.
It didn't work out the way maybe the Jets or Perfetti wanted, but I think from the fans' perspective, Frankie, there's a perception that he wasn't given the opportunities that other players were given in his draft class. . Do you agree with that? Do you think this year could be a breakthrough year for such a player?”
Frankie Corrado: “Jay, it sounds like Cole Perfetti can't be trusted sometimes. As this is the word I will use. He has had chances at times. But the way you probably want to do things now is to eliminate all excuses, like we're going to give you every chance now, and you deserve every chance. He was drafted during the first round, when those players usually get more chances.
NHL Rumors: Is Nikolaj Ehlers' Carolina Hurricanes deal in the works?
He has a great record in minor hockey, and has shown many signs in the NHL that he can be very productive. So I think for the Jets it's about removing any excuses for not having a chance, giving him a chance to succeed with good players and see what he can do.
Because what's the worst that could happen? Either it doesn't work, and you have your answer, or it does. And now you're touching a top 10 guy who can give you the biggest tantrum. I like to see Cole Perfetti's situation as a win-win situation for the Jets, so he can provide a lot of offense for that team. And I would expect them to put him in a situation where he can provide that.”
