Jhonattan Vegas ended his seven-year wait for a PGA Tour title at the 3M Open and his tools are a mix of old and new clubs.
From the tee, Vegas still likes the TSi3 from Titleist despite the fact that the club is now being forced out of date with new launches like its new GT range of drivers and woods.
When it comes to fairway woods, Vegas likes to use the 3-wood from TaylorMade released in 2019. He uses a TaylorMade M6 Rocket with a 14 degree head.
Vegas doesn't use an extra fairway wood or a hybrid, instead opting for a long iron to bridge the yardage gap between the M6 Rocket and his Mizuno MP4 irons.
For this purpose, Vegas turns to a player-grade iron from Titleist's T200 3-iron. The Titleist T200 Iron is among the most popular irons in the bag as one club with 11 players using one on the PGA Tour. On the Vegas side, Byeong Hun An, Davis Riley, Chesson Hadley and Cameron Young all added a 3-iron to their bag.
The Vegas uses only two Titleist Vokey Design SM10 wedges to select 50 degrees with the all-purpose F-grind and 54 degrees with the S-Grind. With a 60 degree wedge, which will be the most used wedges for many players, Vegas likes the TaylorMade MG Hi-Toe.
On the green, Vegas is one of many professionals using a LAB putter in the form of the Golf Link 1.
After draining the final putt to win the 3M Open, Vegas celebrated with his family in a special moment.
“It is even more important that they were here because many times they are not there. It just means the world,” said Vegas. “This is a big win for them and they will be more happy than me, for sure.
“That's the beauty of golf, that's the beauty of the PGA TOUR. No other tour in the world offers that. Any week can change your life forever, so I'm very grateful to win this week.”
