Eddie Hearn thinks Terence Crawford “looks scared”
EDDIE Hearn took a few treats from Terence Crawford ahead of his 154-pound debut in Los Angeles this Saturday. Hearn suggested Crawford took his eye off the ball and also referred to the silk pajama mentality, adding that the Omaha man looked nervous.
These fight days are food and drink for Crawford, 40-0 (31 KOs), who has already moved into the weight classes. Facing WBA super-welterweight champion Israel Madrimov, 10-0-1 (7 KOs), this weekend represents another step up in weight, perhaps one step closer to a clash with Canelo.
While the clash was described as intense in some quarters, it was a case of two sides in the promotion's battle for front and center position. Crawford reminded Hearn that he held a 3-0 lead against Eddie's fights.
Hearn suggested that not only is Crawford soft but the Ricky Burns fight should have been scored evenly. Eddie isn't afraid to talk to anyone in boxing, including a bully like Terence.
Last year to the day, Crawford defeated his rival Errol Spence within nine rounds to confirm his dominance over the welterweight division and for the rest of the season. While Spence struggled before and after that fateful night in Las Vegas, Crawford is now returning to the ring for the first time. But, after accomplishing so much, are you hungrier than ever? Time will tell.
