The obvious Wrexham cameo in Deadpool and Wolverine, plus two you might have missed

Deadpool and Wolverine are now in theaters worldwide with Wrexham AFC owner Ryan Reynolds and there are fun cameos from the EFL League One team and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

*Small spoilers ahead, so if you haven't seen the movie beware.*

Deadpool and Wolverine is Ryan Reynolds' great entry into the MCU and the return of Hugh Jackman's iconic Wolverine from Fox's X-Men franchise. Deadpool is known for his crass humor, breaking the fourth wall and his latest film is full of cameos. While we won't go into everything revealed in the film, there are three nods to Wrexham in the film and one that was left out of the final cut.

Here are all of Wrexham's Deadpool and Wolverine heads, along with a severed one.

Rob McElhenney is a co-owner of Wrexham and Reynolds. Apparently, he should have appeared in the film as a TVA agent. McElhenny joked about the 6-hour journey to make his cameo in the film with a behind-the-scenes shot of him on set with Hugh Jackman on his X account, but it was cut from his viewing for fans to notice. other shows. Reynolds even joked in response that he is looking into the matter and this must be a fluke.

Maybe McElhenney will make the director's cut…

At the beginning of the movie, Wade Wilson (Deadpool's real life name) tries his hand at being a car dealer with his friend Peter played by Rob Delaney who debuted in Deadpool 2. As Peter opens his locker to reveal Deadpool's outfit, there is a magpie sticker we can nod at Notts County.

While Wrexham share fierce rivalries with clubs such as Chester FC and Tranmere Rovers, Wrexham and Notts County have been the biggest fixture in the 2022/23 Vanarama National League season. Wrexham's 3-2 win over Notts County was a major victory in securing promotion to EFL League Two.

This one was hard to avoid, but it wasn't a huge spoiler for the entire movie if you saw it on social media. We won't go into more details, but Wrexham striker Paul Mullin is in the movie. He portrays a member of the Deadpool Corps from another universe aptly named Welshpool.

The club went ahead to acknowledge Mullin's inclusion by changing his roster photo to his Deadpool Corps character. A Deadpool mask celebration could be on the cards this season…

The last quick blink-you-miss-it cameo comes about 30 minutes into the movie. In the scene shown in the trailer where Deadpool meets Wolverine, Wrexham striker Ollie Palmer can be seen in the background.
