The USA, Argentina, Spain, Morocco, Egypt, France, Japan and Paraguay all reached the quarter-finals of the 2024 Summer Olympics football results on Tuesday.
Host France will face Argentina in a tough game, while the USA will play Morocco.
Spain will face Japan, and Egypt will face Paraguay.
Spain, who had already advanced, lost for the first time in the tournament against Egypt, missing the first place in Group C.
There are no such problems in other advanced teams, France beat New Zealand 3-0, USA and Morocco beat Guinea and Iraq respectively.
Argentina beat Ukraine 2-0, Paraguay beat Mali and Japan beat Israel.
Spain vs Egypt: La Roja lost
Spain made 10 changes after qualifying with a game to go but a 2-1 defeat by Egypt could give the tournament favorites a tough road to the finals, starting with what could be a testy quarter-final against Japan.
Defender Marc Pubill scored for La Roja before defender Ibrahim Adel scored for the Pharoahs, who will face either Paraguay, Mali or Israel in the last eight. Samu Omordion's header in the 90th minute could not inspire a Spanish comeback within 10 minutes of extra time.

Dominican Republic vs Uzbekistan: History made
Striker Alisher Odilov earned Uzbekistan their first ever men's football point at the Olympics with a 58th-minute equalizer in a 1-1 draw at the Parc des Princes.
Elche winger Rafael Nunez's penalty opened the scoring seven minutes ago for other players making their debut in the Dominican Republic, who finished with two points and were relegated.
Morocco vs Iraq: Top spot secured
It was a great achievement for Morocco to top the group by beating Iraq in the last match of the group stage.
It finished equal on points with Argentina but stayed ahead of it as it won in its first match.
Argentina vs Ukraine: A classic victory
Argentina relied on Morocco to drop points to avoid France in the quarter finals and they did their job.
Thiago Almada's strike helped them beat Ukraine 2-0 and ensure that they pass safely.
France vs New Zealand: The hosts are on fire
France continued their amazing form by beating New Zealand 3-0. Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta scored along with Desire Doue and Arnaud Kalimuendo.
Tensions have been high between the hosts and Argentina following a recent spat this summer so there could be some fireworks when they meet in the first round of the qualifiers.

United States vs Guinea: Top Countries
The USA advanced to Group A on goals after beating Guinea 3-0.
Their win in the final group game ensured they finished above New Zealand, who lost to France.
Paraguay vs Mali: Continued progress
Paraguay did their job to secure second place by beating Mali 1-0 in their final group game.
Their six points were not enough to put Japan at the top, but they will relish their chances against Egypt in the quarter-finals.
Japan vs Israel: Perfect record
Japan maintained their perfect record in the group stage by beating Israel 1-0 and finishing with nine points.
Their victory means they have topped the group but it is not easy to meet Spain in the next round.
