Shot Scope, an industry leader in advanced GPS, rangefinder and shot tracking technology, has raised $8.5m in funding, accelerating its offering of technology and game-enhancing data to more than 60 million golfers worldwide.

Led by Guinness Ventures, the company has raised capital to continue strong investments in product development, specialty services, and global product marketing – as it continues to provide subscription-free, game-enhancing technology to golfers. With GPS wearables, laser rangefinders, and gun tracking devices, Shot Scope is dedicated to providing a product for players of all skill levels.

“This investment accelerates our goal of bringing game-enhancing technology to 60 million golfers around the world. Throughout 2024 we plan to invest in infrastructure, technology and marketing across the UK, USA and Europe, to support our sales and distribution partners,” commented David Hunter, CEO and Founder of Shot Scope.

“Golfers around the world love GPS, rangefinder and tracking technology, with products sold in 160 different countries by 2023. Golf has changed a lot in the last five years, people of all ages and demographics love the game. With Shot Scope, golfers can improve faster and enjoy the game they love even more.”

As part of the expansion, Shot Scope is moving to new headquarters on the outskirts of Edinburgh to accommodate a growing team of marketing, sales, and customer service professionals.

Fast forward to the last few years, Shot Scope has shown its expansion in the UK and Europe, with major retailers and distribution partners. TGI, Premier, PGC Group and Dormy are among those the company has partnered with, continuing to provide more opportunities for golfers to access the wide range of technology on offer.

In addition to the physical products, the Shot Scope mobile app and web dashboard are home to a number of features that are freely accessible to their users. Features include aerial GPS maps of over 36,000 courses worldwide, over 100 tour-level performance statistics and MyStrategy – a data-driven strategy builder.

With this capital, Shot Scope is confident that it can improve the playing experience of 60 million beginner golfers around the world.
