TaylorMade introduces two new P·Series irons – Golf News
TaylorMade has unveiled the latest additions to its P·Series range with the release of the P·770 and P·7CB irons.
While both the P·770 and P·7CB irons have a player iron profile, with their narrower top line and smaller blade, golfers will notice a much smaller, denser shape in the P·7CB.
Regardless of which golf irons they choose, they will benefit from looks that convey the confidence, control, and accuracy that discerning golfers rely on. At the same time, the tried and tested performance benefits of the P·Series irons live on.
In the P·770 irons, a modified leading edge promotes both consistent shot shaping and clean turf engagement. The single camber and constant bounce profile of each P·7CB iron ensures consistent turf interaction throughout the bag.
Both the P·770 and P·7CB irons are engineered to provide golfers with a unique experience. The P·770 irons use forged player construction to deliver pure feel and solid sound, response, and response.
Matt Bovee, Global Division Director – Irons and Wedges, said: “We've done a lot of work to fine-tune the feel of the new P·770. This is the perfect instrument for the player who needs forgiveness and some performance benefits but doesn't want to sacrifice any feel or control. In my opinion, this is our most forgiving, best P·770 experience to date.
The P·7CB irons are designed using Compact Grain Forging and 2,000 tons of pressure to create the purest, most responsive 1025 carbon steel soft feel possible.
PRECISION MILLED FACES
Both the P·770 and P·7CB irons feature precision milled faces and lines that promote consistent launch and spin for perfect trajectory and distance control.
TaylorMade's FLTD CG is a standout feature in the P·770 irons. It places the CG low on the long irons and slightly higher on the short irons to promote better launch conditions with each club.
Additionally, the updated tungsten weight and slightly wider sole ensure consistent flight on the short and mid irons, while making the long irons incredibly easy and forgiving.
The P·7CB irons have a consistent CG that gives players the confidence knowing that each shot will leave the club in a predictable window with the correct amount of spin for accurate shot preparation.
Bovee commented: “We designed the P·7CB with the better player in mind. In working with these players directly they told us, 'give me precision, give me forgiveness, give me consistency, but do it in a way that's in the collective head.' The new IP·7CB delivers a combination of feel and forgiveness in a more compact form than anything TaylorMade has done in the past.
